3 Weeks Out: No New Experiments

Lock your routine, boost hydration + nutrition, and keep skin calm so makeup looks like skin on wedding day.

With three weeks to go, temptation strikes: new serums, trending tools, different shampoos. Abort mission. This is the calm zone. Most “sandpaper skin” we see is plain dehydration + overdoing actives. Here’s how to lock it down for a smooth, luminous base.

What to keep (and what to skip) at T‑3 Weeks

Keep (consistency wins)

  • Your current gentle cleanse → hydrate → moisturize → SPF (AM)

  • Night routine you already tolerate (retinol/actives only if zero irritation)

  • Weekly gentle exfoliation you’ve used before (enzyme/lactic)

Skip (no surprises)

  • New skincare, haircare, or body products (test spots only if truly needed)

  • High‑strength peels or aggressive facials

  • First‑time dermaplaning/waxing; save only if previously patched + tolerated

Hydration & nutrition: your glow multipliers

  • Fluids: build steady water habits now; many brides are simply dehydrated. Aim for regular sips through the day. (General guidance: ~2.7 L/day for women from all fluids/foods—adjust for heat/activity.)

  • Electrolytes: add a low‑sugar electrolyte if you sweat or are outdoors.

  • Omega‑3s: salmon, sardines, walnuts, chia—support barrier + calmness.

  • Color on the plate: berries, leafy greens, citrus (vitamin C for collagen).

  • Ease off salt/alcohol: reduces puffiness + dryness; sleep + water help flush.

PS: Hydration helps—then moisturizer locks it in. Both matter.

Patch‑test rule: If you must try something, test a quarter‑sized area twice daily for 7–10 days before full use. (Or just don’t start new things right now.)

Heads‑up: hair & body products can break you out

Shampoos, conditioners, pomades, and heavy oils can cause tiny bumps along the hairline, jaw, back, and chest (aka acne cosmetica/pomade acne). Keep products off skin, rinse thoroughly, and wash your face/body after hair.

  • Choose non‑comedogenic or lightweight haircare if you’re breakout‑prone

  • Change pillowcases 2–3x/week; tie hair back for workouts

  • Wipe phone/headphones; avoid hat friction on the hairline

PS: Hydration helps—then moisturizer locks it in. Both matter.

Week 3 mini‑checklist

Book any gentle facial for next week (T‑10 to T‑14)

Plan brows/lip/chin hair removal for T‑3 to T‑5 (only if tested before)

Hydration goals + grocery run: berries, leafy greens, citrus, fatty fish, nuts

Swap heavy hair oils for lighter leave‑ins; avoid hairline contact
